Homemade Car De-Icer Spray That’s Ridiculously Easy To Make

Homemade car de-icer spray is so easy to make that you’ll never have to buy the commercial stuff again.   Most places in the US are under snow – it’s a fact. And it’s something that makes me miserable, especially since it forces me to take a few extra steps before I can head out… Read Full Article

  • Well, whatever plague my daughter has had this week (She had to go to the doctor for the 3rd time in 2 weeks yesterday), I've now got it too. I couldn't even get up last night to put my ducks away - Larry had to do it.
.
Honestly, as long as they get fed, I'm pretty sure my ducks are fine not seeing me for a day.
.
If ever there was a case for homeschooling (which I'm not patient enough to do), the 3 billion communicable diseases children pick up at school is it.
  • We've been restocking my Amazon store this week (link in profile), which is a bit of an overwhelming process. So, I'm having a hard time remembering what day it is - I thought it was Saturday for some reason!
.
The chickens enjoyed a whole day without rain - they played outside, fought with the ducks, flew up on their swings, and more.
.
It was also warm yesterday, which gave them more reason to be joyful. If it's warm out again today, I might try to get some good photos of my bantam cochin hen wearing her tutu.
.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again - I love this breed because they're like the toy poodles of the backyard chicken world. I can't wait until May when my chicks arrive! I want a whole flock of bantam cochins!
  • It poured here AGAIN. I slept through it, but apparently, the wind blew from one direction while the rain blew from another.
.
And all my pastures are under water for the 3 millionth time this winter. What a mess!
.
The ducks are happy though - the wind yesterday blew open their run, and they had a fine time running around the farm, playing in all the water.
.
Ducks are DEVOTED to their water - if they don't have enough in their pool, I hear all about it. They want to speak to my manager! LOL!
.
I've kind of been able to count them - they move around faster than ants and they go EVERYWHERE like cats. Mix that with my poor vision, and it makes counting kind of hard.
.
If I counted correctly, we have 7 duck hens - and they should be all laying soon! I can't wait to get a ton of duck eggs every day!
  • We've added several new mugs and tumblers to our shop this week. I'm excited because this is a project we've had in the works for a while!
.
I think the backyard chicken life should be celebrated. Chickens are such wonderful pets!
.
I love taking these mugs with me to the coop (filled with hot chocolate since I can't drink coffee) and spending some quiet time with my flock before the day really begins!
.

  • I have a love /hate relationship with this tiny rooster. He's all of 3 inches high but loves to attack my feet. I seriously have no idea why.
.
He's a rescue and I'm pretty sure the reason I got him is because, to someone not experienced with chickens, he can be scary.
.
But I wear boots in my coop all the time. So, he's essentially a mosquito. It's pretty cute.
.
Sometimes he wanders off and I have to catch him. He doesn't like that, and protests loudly. But he doesn't attack me. He just squaks loudly.
.
But when I have a treat? He's my best friend. What a character!
